Let's Talk Baseball
Every week, husband and wife team Ron & Jill Wolforth (www.TexasBaseballRanch.com) talk, debate and argue with each other and the experts about America’s Favorite Pastime. It’s all about baseball – Big Leagues, Youth, on the field and behind the scenes. Is the coach of your kid’s baseball team driving them too hard? Or is Dale Sveum not driving those Cubs hard enough? Hear advice on good nutrition – and about the latest “non-steroid steroid” in circulation. Catch it all here with the Wolforths, America’s “First Family of Baseball”.

Things in our culture today seem to change so quickly, in fact, sometimes those changes can be detrimental to the well being and development of an athlete.  For example, in baseball, Perfect Game and travel/select baseball have grown exponentially over the past five years.  Some of the changes have been beneficial to the development of many young athletes while some of it has been downright scary.  On this week's radio show Coaches Ron & Jill Wolforth discuss when parent's must learn to say NO!  Learning to say No may save the physical AND mental health of your child.

In this week's "Classroom Segment" they will talk about the keys to off-season strength development.

It's the time of year where the big leaguers prepare for the playoffs, the minor leaguers head to fall instructional leagues and fall baseball is in full swing for high school and youth players.  The word frequently used during this time of year is "Development" - but is it really?  On this week's radio show Coaches Ron & Jill Wolforth will discuss the most frequent results created by these traditional processes and why you probably don't want any part of them.

Then in the Classroom Segment they will revisit the theme of "Watch your Coffee" and talk about why you should become acutely aware of what influences your thinking and daily behavior.

The Wolforth family recently made a big decision regarding Garrett, Coach Wolforth and Jill's 16-year-old son.  Garrett has chosen to forgo his junior year in High School and graduate one year early.  Coach and Jill debated sharing the particulars of this decision on the radio show but decided the mechanics of the process that lead to it might be valuable to other parents. So, on this week's show they will share those details with you.

In the classroom segment, Coach & Jill address the concept of "Accurate Thinking" and how absolutely critical it is for development and how it is a cornerstone at the Texas Baseball Ranch.
